Doug Johns Marine Services provides first class and very competitively priced boat cleaning, detailing and maintenance solutions.

We look after your valued investment with wash and detailing services on a casual, one-off basis or with a regular maintenance program tailored to suit those boat owners who are particularly fastidious.

We can also provide machine buffing and hand polishing of badly deteriorated or neglected fiberglass vessels to restore that “as new” shine.

We can also take care of specialized marine maintenance and repair issues, such as:

Arranging service and repairs of engines and mechanical components
Arranging service and repairs of marine electrical and electronics
Organise qualified, reputable and efficient shipwrights to carry out fiberglass and gelcoat repairs
Removal of marine growth and associated staining from hull undersides
Application of anti-fouling paint for vessels which are permanently berthed or are to spend extended periods of time in the water
Arrange fabricators & installers of stainless steel rails, deck hardware, etc
Organise repairs or replacement of canopies, covers, carpets and clear vinyl by reputable marine trimmers
Arrange steam cleaning of badly soiled carpets or upholstery
Arrange qualified, professional divers to scrub hull undersides of vessels which are wet berthed
Supply of custom mooring lines and fender packages to suit all size vessels and mooring applications
Supply and install boat registration numbers and boat names in any desired font and colour
Supply required safety equipment such as PFD’s, flare packs, fire extinguishers, anchors and chain/rope, torches, etc. at competitive prices
Provide new boat delivery, detailing and commissioning services, to prepare your new vessel for the water

As an approximate guide, our boat wash and detail package costs (for vessels in “average” condition) are as follows:

Smaller boat (eg. 17 – 20 ft bowrider/runabout) $125 - $150 inc GST
Medium boat (eg. 20 – 24 ft bowrider/runabout or 18 – 22 ft half cabin) $175 – $225 inc GST
Larger boat (eg. 24 – 32 ft sportscruiser) $225 - $350 inc GST
Boats larger than 32 ft – please call for an individual quote

We pride ourselves on exceptional, personal customer service; and we will always endeavour to have your boat prepared for you as requested. Please be aware that, particularly in the summer season, at least one weeks’ notice should ideally be given.

Please note, boat wash and detail package consists of the following items:

1. Wash and chamois dry exterior & cockpit/helm area of vessel

2. Wash and dry lockers & storage compartments

3. Degrease/oxalic acid remove marks & stains on non-skid deck surfaces

4. Wash boat covers and canopies

5. Remove fender & scuff marks from hull

6. Remove marine growth from hull underside & engine leg

7. Acid wash to remove water staining & marine deposits from hull

8. Shampoo and/or vacuum cockpit and cabin carpets

9. Wipe over galley, tables, toilet, etc. in cabin (if applicable)

10. Polish windscreen, windows and clear covers

11. Polish stainless steel rails and deck fittings

12. Apply Diamond Kote protectant to cockpit upholstery

13. Freshwater flush of sterndrive or outboard engine (key required)

Naturally, discounted rates apply for bookings made for regular maintenance programs which are performed on a monthly, 2-monthly or 3-monthly basis.

Please also note that all buff and polishing jobs are quoted individually and according to the condition of the vessel in question.

You should also be aware that Doug Johns Marine Services is fully insured and use only proven, environmentally sound marine grade products.
